Including external inventory macros is a necessary step for pulling reports to show which exchange and apps your impressions ran on. From there, you can see whether or not they are performing well or experiencing issues and adjust accordingly.
Some ad server tags already include external inventory macros as a part of the tag configuration. However, you can always manually include any external inventory macros in Celtra’s Tag Generator.
When you include the below external inventory macros, they will be available in the Report Builder and Analytics API:
External Site
External Bundle
External Supplier
To include external inventory tags in your tags, do the following:
In the Tag Generator, select the relevant SDK, then open the ad server dropdown and select Custom .
Enter the click Macro for the first party and serving platform.
The name of the field you enter in the macro value is the name of the dimension you should select in Report Builder.
On the Additional Ad Server Info panel, enter the external inventory macros in the provided fields. You can add external inventory macros for the ID, Name of the Creative, the Placement, the site, the supplier, and an ID for the session
. Not all fields require macros. Export or copy the configured tag.
The ad tag is now configured to take in the external inventory macros, and will report on performance by unique ID or NAME whenever the macro is provided by the ad server at delivery.
Celtra Tip: The name of the field you enter in the macro value is the name of the Dimension you should select in Report Builder.
